Improve ties, Rosmah urges Wives of Diplomats

PUTRAJAYA: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has encouraged wives of diplomats to get to know each other better.

She said they could exchange ideas and experiences that could contribute to better ties between their countries.

“As for us, we are always looking forward to a better relationship,” she said at a high-tea reception for ambassadors' wives at Seri Perdana here yesterday.

More than 40 wives of diplomats attended the event.

Rosmah said she had been looking forward to hosting the reception since Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak became the Prime Minister in March 2009.

“I hope this will be a good start,” she said.

Iman Abu Ghoush, spouse of the Palestinian ambassador who spoke on behalf of the wives, said they were very impressed with the compassion Rosmah showed towards issues related to children.

“You turned their dreams into reality. You played your role in empowering women and we salute you for that,” she said.
